Norwegian Consortium Assembles, Annotates Cod Genome from 454 Data
A Norwegian consortium of researchers, in collaboration with Roche's 454 Life Sciences, has completed a high-quality annotated draft genome of the Atlantic cod, using a sequencing strategy that relied exclusively on shotgun and paired-end sequence data generated on 454's GS FLX Titanium platform.

The European Bioinformatics Infrastructure is one of 35 projects on the roadmap made by the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) from 2006. An EU funded preparatory project, named ELIXIR,is currently on‐going to prepare plans for operaton in the period 2011‐2018. Read more...
