Highthroughput data analysis course, Bergen, 21-23 March 2012
Summary
J-Express is an analysis suite for interpretation of high-throughput experiment data, commonly used for gene expression microarray analysis, but also applicable for other types of data.
Description
This is a course at the second level of NMC's course series organized in collaboration with the FUGE Bioinformatics platform. Participants should have attended a course at the introductory level or have equivalent background knowledge on highthroughput genomics technology.
We intend to focus on practicals in this course, main topics to be covered are:
- Working with J-Express functionality
- Groups
- Sub datasets
- Use different analysis modules in sequence to investigate different parts of the data
- Explorative methods (PCA / CA / clustering)
- Differential expression
- SAM/t-test/Rank Product
- Gene Set Enrichment Analysis
- Online tools to interpret Gene Sets, Pathways and public available gene annotations on your data set
- Introduction to Genome Browser software to visualize Next Generation Sequencing data.
We encourage people who need early confirmation of acceptance to the course to register by 1st of March. We will then be able to prioritize a slot for you for instance if your travel to Bergen to attend the course. The final registration will end on March 12th.
